Dymock Half Marathon

This popular event was first held during the early 1980s in conjunction with the village carnival and fete. In recent years the course has changed to incorporate regulations laid down by the Midland Counties AAA. which also demands an officially measured distance. Thus the course commences at Rose Hill Farm (A), proceeds through the village, taking a left hand turn at the Beauchamp Arms pub (B) to Ledbury. It then turns left at the Countrywide store (C) and proceeds to Much Marcle via Preston Cross. At Much Marcle it turns left (D) again at Wynds Cross where it turns right (E) and goes through the village again to finish at the cricket ground (F).

The 2010 event will be sponsored by county building company, Cavendish Park Builders Ltd, and will commence at 11.00am on Sunday May 30th. This is a charity race and over the years runners have raised many thousands for deserving causes. As it is a road race, all runners compete at their own risk.

The course record is held by Dale Rixon of Bridgend A.C. with a time of 1 hour 5 minutes 46 seconds achieved in 1996. The ladies record is 1 hour 25 minutes & 12 seconds achieved by Kim Mazzucca of Forest of Dean A.C. in 2009.
